About Us

The netball team started 4 years ago as a drunken rant from a few girls who reminisced about playing in school all those years ago, not all of us had had a good experience of sport at school, so we decided to make it as fun as possible. Sharky a local with our sponsor’s; the plough, took the first step of hiring us a court. Finding free courts was difficult and many a time we played on junior basketball courts, (including ones we had to jump walls to get at!!)

We don’t have a coach or a manger at present, though some boys have thought they were big enough; invariably all mouth and no trousers!

So stuff on the whole is sorted as a group.

Training

Thursday nights at St Paul’s academy 6.30pm Sharp! (To allow for stretching and berd like weekly catch up) All welcome!!

Games

Avon League

We have a team affiliated (at considerable cost) to Avon League, this is our third year. Our first year wasn’t too great as although we did win a few games we encountered MANY learning curves. The second year was much better, as we leapt up the division and this year we have been promoted to div 9 – How cool is that?

Floodlit League

We will be entering this league if it happens, as it’s a good opportunity to get our non-Avon league players competitive games.

Friendlies

We try and arrange regular friendlies to facilitate training,. And also because its great to go out and have fun with other teams at a similar level.

Opportunities & Development

Currently we have 3 qualified umpires at beginner’s level, that we paid to put through their courses. We support any of our players interested in gaining this qualification.

Also there are regular coaching training sessions that we try and put as many that play as possible through.

Out of Tournamunt funds we have been able to put one person through a coaching course which is mega!
