Men’s Football

From a single Sunday league football team we know have 6 men’s teams. Two play in the Bristol Downs League, one plays in the Bristol Suburban League, one in the Bristol and District Sunday League and two in the Bristol Casuals League.

Saturday Football

11-A-Side football played in the Bristol Downs League and the Bristol & Suburban League.

Formed for the 2009/2010 season, they gained promotion from the 1st Division in their 1st season.

  • Kit Sponsor: The Plough
  • Manager: Gareth Boulton
  • Training: Wednesday, 7:30pm at Brunel Academy, Speedwell (with the Saturday B team). Cost is £3 per player to cover the cost of the Astroturf facility etc.
  • Matches: Bristol Downs League Division 2. All matches played at Bristol Downs, Clifton. Meet one hour before kick-off at the Downs changing rooms (kick-off time varies)
  • Results: Downs’ League & Cup, League Table, GFA Cup (Intermediate South)

Sunday Football

11-a-side men’s football played in the Bristol & District League.

In the 2008/2009 season the Sunday Team won Bristol and District Sunday Division 1 and gained promotion to the Premier Division.

  • Matches: Bristol and District Sunday Premier Division. Meet at Baptist Mills School, Easton at 9.15am. Home Ground is BAWA Club, Southmead. Kick off 10.30am.

Football For The Mature Gent

11-a-side Men’s Football played in The Bristol Casuals League.

The Casuals won the  Bristol Casuals League Division 2 in 2008/2009 but due to a league reorganisation did not get promoted, they finished 2nd in 2009/2010.

  • Manager: Nick Dashboard, Monty Don and Spence
  • Training: Tuesday night at St Pauls Academy, 7.30 pm.
  • Matches: Played in the Bristol Casuals League Division 2. The games are played on Sundays. Home games are at AXA or BAWA.
  • Results: League Results
Formed for the 2009/2010 they continue to search for their first victory.

  • Training: Ultra Casuals training reverts to Speedwell Academy (formerly Speedwell Technology College) 6.30pm – 7.30pm, every Wednesday. Cowboys old and new are welcome.
  • Matches: Played in the Bristol Casuals League Division 5. The games are played on Sundays. Home ground TBC.

Other Football

This is a Brazilian version of 5-a-side football. The game is played inside with up to seven substitutes and a ball that is smaller and less bouncy than a normal football. This ball, together with the rules, are meant to develop creativity and technique. The Futsal Team have entered the Bristol Futsal League.
